Overview
This position is for a nanny working in a private household in Mississauga, Ontario. The role is based at the employer’s home and must be carried out in person; remote work is not available.
Language
English is required.
Education
A secondary school graduation certificate, or an equivalent combination of experience and education, is expected.
Experience
Previous experience is helpful but not essential.
Work Setting
The job takes place in the employer’s home.
Responsibilities
The nanny will be responsible for the care, supervision, and daily support of children, along with household support tasks when parents are unavailable.
- Take full responsibility for the household when the parents are away.
- Carry out light cleaning and housekeeping duties.
- Bathe, dress, and feed infants and children.
- Apply the parenting discipline methods requested by the parents.
- Teach children about personal care and social development.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and healthy home environment.
- Plan and organize activities such as games and outings.
- Prepare and serve healthy meals.
- Get infants and children ready for naps and rest periods.
- Supervise children and provide day-to-day care.
- Take children to and from school and appointments.
- Support children’s emotional well-being.
- Assist children with homework.
- Cook meals as needed.
Credentials
CPR certification and First Aid certification are required.
