About the Role
Kenon Mushroom is hiring an experienced mushroom spawn inoculation specialist for its Bundaberg factory in Queensland. The business is growing rapidly within the agri-tech space and is expanding production to support a wider range of commercial mushroom growers. This role suits someone who can work confidently in a production environment, coordinate well with others, and solve problems effectively.
What You’ll Do
- Work with the Production Manager to meet daily output targets and finish the day’s spawn production schedule.
- Independently handle the extraction and cultivation of oyster mushroom original species, along with the creation of secondary strains.
- Carry out the full process of preparing, inoculating, and industrially inoculating oyster mushroom liquid culture medium.
- Partner with the Production Manager to improve workflows, lower contamination risk, and raise efficiency while maintaining product quality and production standards.
- Support the Production Manager with spawn bag inoculation tasks.
Experience and Qualifications
The role calls for at least 2 years of relevant experience, ideally in a laboratory or culture cultivation environment. A bachelor’s degree or above is required, with biotechnology preferred. The company is also looking for someone who learns quickly, communicates clearly, and works well in a team.
