About the Organization

The Humane League is an international nonprofit focused on ending cruelty toward animals raised for food. The organization is widely recognized for its high-impact advocacy work and operates as a fully remote team with more than 100 employees across the world. Its approach centers on ambitious goals, continuous improvement, and coordinated action with partner organizations to drive long-term change for farmed animals.

Role Overview

As the Multimedia Video Editor, you will be a key contributor to campaign storytelling through video. Working within THL Studios and closely alongside the Senior Video Strategist & Editor, you will edit campaign-driven content, create basic animations, and support fast-paced digital production needs across multiple formats. The role combines hands-on editing, creative development, workflow improvement, and occasional production support.

This is a full-time remote role based in the United States. The selected candidate must live in the United States and be authorized to work there. The position also includes domestic and/or international travel approximately 1 to 3 times per year to provide production support. Please note that the work may involve reviewing material that shows abusive practices used to expose and stop animal cruelty.

Core Responsibilities

  • Handle day-to-day editing for campaign videos, social content, and internal assets, ensuring polished audio, smooth visual flow, and outputs that reflect the organization’s brand and mission.
  • Organize source footage, sync audio, maintain the media library, and prepare exports with accessibility in mind, including captioning and platform-specific codec optimization.
  • Contribute to early creative planning by proposing video ideas, building mood boards, outlining visual direction, and turning campaign briefs into practical production plans.
  • Support the responsible use of AI in post-production by testing tools, improving workflows, and applying them to tasks such as color correction, audio cleanup, and storyboarding.
  • Provide secondary production support on selected shoots, including camera assistance, audio capture, and equipment setup and teardown.
  • Manage projects from intake through delivery, communicate with stakeholders, incorporate feedback, and keep timelines moving across multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Work across departments with Engagement, Video, Design, and other teams to create consistent, effective, multi-platform visual content.
  • Perform additional related duties as business needs change.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Strong professional video editing background with practical experience across post-production, including animation, color adjustments, sound work, encoding, and compression for formats such as HD, 4K, and RAW.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro or an equivalent editor, plus After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Understanding of video production basics, motion graphics, graphic design, and typography.
  • Ability to assess and incorporate emerging AI tools into editing workflows.
  • Comfort with on-set production equipment, including B-camera operation, audio gear, and setup tasks.
  • Experience producing both short-form and long-form video content.
  • Familiarity with project coordination tools such as Asana and Slack, along with strong file organization habits.
  • Ability to juggle several deadlines at once while staying highly organized.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability, with sound judgment for independent day-to-day decisions in collaboration with a supervisor.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for pitching ideas, documenting plans, and sharing progress updates.
  • Collaborative mindset with the flexibility to work across functions and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to create video work with a global audience in mind.

Physical Requirements

The position may require lifting and carrying equipment such as cameras, tripods, lights, microphones, or other set gear weighing about 30 to 50 pounds. It may also involve standing for extended periods during filming or setup.

Application and Hiring Process

Applications must be submitted by Friday, June 26, 2026 at 11:59 pm. Late submissions will not be considered. All application materials and responses must be provided in English. Technical issues should be directed to the careers email provided by the employer, and applications must be submitted through the designated application form rather than by email.

Applicants who move forward will go through a remote work simulation exercise followed by a video interview. Each stage is expected to take about one to two weeks on average.

The annual salary for this position is USD 68,473 to USD 83,689.
