Role Overview

This position sits within the Art Department and supports design work across digital, video, web, and print media under the direction of the Art Director. The role also contributes to instructional and training materials used for LSI products and customer education. This is an onsite role in Victor, NY with working hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The salary range for this position is $75,767 to $114,000 per year.

Core Responsibilities

The responsibilities vary by level, but the role generally includes maintaining brand integrity, producing visual assets, and supporting cross-functional communication.

  • Protect and apply corporate branding and trademark standards across product literature, videos, presentations, web materials, and packaging.
  • Create and update packaging, labeling, marketing, and sales collateral.
  • Learn and apply medical device labeling standards and keep labeling consistent across product families.
  • Develop visual solutions for multiple departments and product lines.
  • Edit, retouch, scan, and enhance photos and other image assets.
  • Participate in creative brainstorming and contribute ideas for design direction and concepts.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Sales, Engineering, physicians, and researchers.
  • Maintain and refresh digital signage content for the LSI campus.
  • Support executive-level visual communication projects for the CEO.
  • Track assigned work in a digital archive and keep records organized.
  • Update, tag, and curate digital assets in the asset management system on a monthly basis.
  • For mid-level and senior roles, create motion graphics, animation concepts, and new templates for video production.
  • Prepare files for video output and web use, and produce finished video content for internal, client, and trade show needs.
  • For senior-level work, manage projects from concept through final delivery, improve workflows as project needs evolve, and guide junior designers.

Experience and Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Multimedia Design or a closely related design field is preferred.
  • Level I typically requires 1 to 3 years of professional design experience.
  • Level II requires at least 4 years of relevant professional design experience.
  • Senior level requires 7 or more years of relevant professional design experience.
  • Level I candidates should have basic proficiency with Final Cut Pro and Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • A working understanding of video production workflows is needed.

Knowledge and Technical Skills

  • Strong grounding in typography, composition, layout, and design principles.
  • Comfort working on Mac systems.
  • Basic familiarity with prepress, web design, digital photography, and video editing.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Final Cut Pro.
  • Awareness of practical and innovative uses of artificial intelligence, including Adobe Firefly.
  • Comfort using Keynote, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong organization, time management, proofreading, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to move quickly between projects and manage competing priorities.
  • Capacity to follow direction as well as work independently.
  • Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams.
  • For higher levels, advanced knowledge of motion graphics, videography, digital photography, 3D tools such as Maya and KeyShot, web design best practices, and medical device labeling requirements.
  • For senior roles, mastery of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, and Final Cut Pro.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • The role may involve exposure to human and animal cadavers.
  • Work can include fast-moving deadlines and interactions with challenging personalities.
  • Employees may need to lift and carry 1 to 5 lbs frequently and 25 to 30 lbs occasionally.
  • Employees may need to push or pull 1 to 2 lbs frequently and 10 to 20 lbs occasionally.
  • Periodic bending, kneeling, and the use of color vision and depth perception may be required.
  • Sitting, standing, and walking for up to 8 hours per day may be necessary.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling may be required.
  • Regular tasks include talking, hearing, seeing, color recognition, reaching, handling objects, and repetitive motion.
