Role overview
Glenorchy City Council is looking for two dependable, safety-focused Multi-Skilled Labourers to support stormwater-related road, drainage, infrastructure maintenance, and construction work in the local area. This position is hands-on and contributes directly to the upkeep and development of community infrastructure.
What you will do
You will work across a range of civil and maintenance tasks, including operating plant and equipment safely, carrying out labouring duties, and helping deliver works to the required standard. The role also involves practical fieldwork and site support.
- Carry out earthworks, concreting, pipe laying, and other general civil labouring tasks.
- Operate plant and equipment in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Read, interpret, and follow plans and site instructions.
- Keep accurate records as required.
- Support safe and effective traffic management on work sites.
- Work with asphalt, concrete, formwork, and small plant equipment.
- Follow Workplace Health and Safety requirements at all times.
- Work to line and grade where required.
What we are looking for
The successful person will bring practical civil construction experience, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to perform physically demanding work in changing outdoor conditions. You should be comfortable working as part of a team, adapting to shifting priorities, and contributing positively in a collaborative environment.
Essential requirements
- Certificate III in Civil Construction, or at least 2 recent years of experience in civil construction.
- Current MR class driver’s licence.
- White Card for construction induction.
- Traffic Management Accreditation, including RIIWHS205E Control traffic with a stop-slow bat and RIIWHS302E Implement traffic management plans.
Position details
- Full-time role.
- 76 hours per fortnight.
- Annual salary of $65,412.00.
- 15% superannuation.
- Annual salary increases.
- Regular rostered day off every fortnight for full-time employees.
