Job description

About the Role

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Multi-Skilled Craftsperson with an electrical bias to join their team in Burton Upon Trent. This is a full-time, onsite position focused on providing a flexible and efficient repair and maintenance service across a wide range of electrical and mechanical plant and equipment. You will work in diverse environments, from patient care areas like Wards and Theatres to manufacturing facilities and offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical and mechanical repairs and servicing on NHS retained estates.
  • Undertake statutory inspections within your delegated area, maintaining accurate records to ensure compliance with current legislation.
  • Provide a flexible and efficient repair and maintenance service, working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Respond to on-call duties, attending the hospital within an appropriate timeframe when required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in electrical and mechanical repairs and maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including IT proficiency and both written and verbal communication.
  • Must hold a valid driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.
  • Willingness and ability to undertake on-call responsibilities and attend the hospital promptly when called.
