Role overview

The New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans are looking for a Mobile App Specialist to shape the look, feel, and day-to-day performance of their mobile apps. Based in Metairie, Louisiana, this full-time salaried non-exempt role reports to the Sr. Director, Digital Platforms and has no direct reports. The position supports the teams’ effort to grow and engage their fan community through polished mobile experiences.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and improve intuitive mobile interfaces and user journeys aligned with iOS and Android standards.
  • Refresh app content and features regularly, using fan feedback and testing results to guide design changes.
  • Write and deliver promotional messaging in a consistent brand voice, including support for major team and league moments.
  • Create sponsor-facing app inventory and promotional placements.
  • Coordinate app update and enhancement schedules with the app provider and keep developers informed of next steps.
  • Use audience segmentation to send more personalized messages to fans.
  • Run gamification campaigns and app-based sweepstakes activities.
  • Produce vertical video content for important seasonal moments.
  • Share analytics and performance reports with internal teams.
  • Handle game-day responsibilities for home and away games as assigned.
  • Stay informed about new mobile app technologies, design trends, and innovation.

Qualifications and requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in web development, design, computer science, app development, software engineering, or a closely related area.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Working knowledge of front-end and mobile technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, along with a strong visual design sense for iOS and Android.
  • Preferred advanced experience with Yinzcam CMS.
  • Strong understanding of current UI/UX best practices and methods.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite and/or Figma to create, edit, and optimize creative files.
  • Experience with project management platforms such as Jira.
  • Video shooting and editing experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining close attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed for NFL and NBA schedules.
