Job description

About the Studio

Project London is a multi-award-winning practice that unites architecture, interior design, procurement, and project management in one team. The studio specialises in premium residential homes, handling projects from early concept through to final completion across prime central London and the Home Counties, with an expanding presence in Dubai. The wider group also includes Cor Domi, a bespoke kitchen and joinery business, giving designers the opportunity to collaborate closely with a dedicated maker on custom pieces that shape the character of each home.

The studio works transparently on an open-book basis, remains independent from contractors, and runs competitive tendering so clients understand exactly what they are paying for and why. Recent recognition includes a shortlist for a BIID Interior Design Award for a Portobello Road project in the Greater London residential category, and Lion House on Bradbourne Street being named Best Architecture Single Residence at the UK International Property Awards. With a strong project pipeline, the studio is looking for a capable designer to develop and grow with the team.

The Role

This is a practical, client-facing position for an interior designer with solid luxury residential experience who is ready to manage projects day to day. You will work alongside senior designers and the broader team, taking responsibility for your own projects while receiving guidance and support when required. Reporting to a senior design team member, you will play an important role in maintaining the quality, pace, and overall delivery of the studio’s work.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will lead projects through concept, design development, and delivery, making sure each one stays on schedule and within budget. You will also prepare polished client presentations and design packages, develop space plans, finishes, materials, and FF&E selections that combine creativity with practical living needs, and produce and coordinate drawing sets in collaboration with architects and technical colleagues. A sharp eye for detail will be essential from the first sketch through to final snagging.

On the sourcing side, you will research and specify suitable products, materials, and suppliers for each project while building strong relationships with makers and vendors. You will prepare detailed specifications and schedules, then work closely with the procurement team as projects move through ordering, delivery, and installation. The role also includes regular collaboration with Cor Domi on bespoke kitchens and joinery.

In terms of client communication, you will act as a dependable point of contact throughout delivery, present ideas with confidence to clients and wider professional teams, and keep clients updated in a clear, timely, and professional manner. You will also represent Project London appropriately on site and in all external interactions, support junior colleagues, contribute to design reviews, and stay informed about new materials, makers, and ideas through trade shows and industry events.

What You’ll Need

You should hold a degree in interior design or architecture and bring at least five years of post-graduate experience, ideally within high-end residential work. Strong creative thinking, organisation, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage several projects at once. A solid understanding of current UK building regulations is important, together with awareness of the additional considerations involved in listed and heritage properties.

You will need excellent spoken and written English, strong presentation skills, a structured working style, and a meticulous eye for detail. Candidates must also have the right to live and work in the UK.

Software

The role requires working knowledge of Vectorworks (2D), Adobe InDesign, and Microsoft Office. Experience with SketchUp or visualisation tools would be beneficial, but it is not a requirement.

Benefits

You will be offered a competitive salary aligned to experience, hybrid working with three days per week in the Parsons Green studio and two days from home, 25 days of annual leave, and additional closure over the Christmas period. The studio offers a close-knit, ambitious environment with clear growth plans, room to progress, and the chance to contribute to varied, high-quality projects where your work will have a visible impact.

How to Apply

Applicants must first complete an application quiz, which is expected to take around 30 to 40 minutes. Only candidates who finish this step will be considered for interview. After that, applicants should send their CV and portfolio by email.

Additional Details

This opportunity is open to candidates already based in London who have relevant experience. The employer is seeking someone who can start as soon as possible, although a notice period is understood. Only shortlisted candidates will receive a response, and applications from recruitment agencies will not be accepted.
