Role Overview
The M&A Analyst will support merger, acquisition, and sale transactions by preparing financial models, conducting valuations, carrying out due diligence, and building presentation materials. The role focuses on evaluating the strategic and financial impact of potential deals, assessing business fit, and helping senior stakeholders and clients make informed decisions. It requires strong analytical ability, quantitative thinking, and clear communication, along with the capacity to handle demanding workloads in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed financial models to project future performance and estimate business value.
- Perform valuation work using methods such as discounted cash flow and comparable company analysis.
- Prepare pitch books, client decks, summaries, and other presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Review financial, operational, and related business information to identify risks and opportunities during due diligence.
- Research industries, markets, competitors, and strategic trends to support transaction decisions.
- Build and apply models such as DCF and LBO for potential acquisition targets.
- Analyze target companies and market conditions to identify strategic fit and growth opportunities.
- Coordinate with legal, tax, and other advisors to help move transactions through the execution process.
- Communicate professionally with clients, senior bankers, and third parties involved in the deal process.
- Support the preparation of investment memorandums and transaction-related materials.
Requirements
- Solid grounding in accounting, finance, and quantitative analysis.
- Hands-on experience or strong capability in financial modeling and valuation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and perform effectively under pressure.
- Working knowledge of merger and acquisition transaction workflows.
