Role Overview

The MEP Technician will support the operation and upkeep of the company’s dark store network. This role is focused on keeping mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems running reliably while meeting safety and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The position covers planned maintenance, fault finding, and repairs across HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing systems, along with reporting and safety checks.

• Carry out regular servicing, troubleshooting, and repair work on HVAC equipment such as air conditioning and ventilation units.
• Check and maintain refrigeration systems to support stable temperature control and dependable performance.
• Examine, repair, and service electrical installations including lights, distribution panels, and wiring.
• Identify electrical faults and resolve them quickly to reduce interruptions or equipment downtime.
• Perform preventive maintenance on generators and other backup power systems.
• Inspect and maintain plumbing networks, including water supply lines, drainage systems, and sanitary fixtures.
• Fix leaks, clogs, and other plumbing issues without delay.
• Follow a structured preventive maintenance plan for all MEP assets.
• Spot potential problems early and take action before failures occur.
• Ensure systems remain aligned with local safety rules and compliance standards.
• Carry out routine safety inspections on equipment and installations.
• Work according to company procedures and safe working practices.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance tasks, repairs, and equipment condition.
• Share regular progress updates and issue reports with the Facility Manager.

Requirements

• A diploma or ITI qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering is required.
• Additional certifications in HVAC or electrical systems will be considered an advantage.
• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in MEP maintenance is expected, ideally within retail, warehousing, or industrial settings.
• Practical exposure to refrigeration and cold storage equipment is highly preferred.
• A valid UAE driving licence is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems and related equipment is necessary.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics is important.
• Hands-on proficiency with tools and maintenance equipment is needed.
• Good analytical thinking and strong attention to detail are essential.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team is required.
• Good planning, organization, and time management skills are expected.
• Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and emergency shifts is necessary.
