Samantha Siu New York is a jewelry label recognized for its carefully made reversible necklaces inspired by the storytelling concept behind “A Love Affair.” The pieces are created to reflect a specific moment and setting, combining refined craftsmanship with symbolic meaning.

The brand also donates 10% of net profits from each necklace to nonprofit partners working in education improvement, medical support, and animal conservation. Its approach is centered on purpose-led creativity, inviting both customers and collaborators to take part in a mission-driven journey.

Role Summary

This part-time Media Communication Management Intern position is based in the New York City Metropolitan Area and follows a hybrid on-site structure. The role is unpaid, runs for 6 months, and involves 10–15 hours per week. It requires two in-office days weekly during the summer, specifically Thursdays and Fridays, along with virtual meetings as needed.

What You’ll Support

  • Assist with daily media and communications work.
  • Help with public relations outreach and coordination with media contacts and influencers.
  • Plan and schedule social content while monitoring audience engagement.
  • Contribute to campaign development that reflects the brand’s story and mission.
  • Support basic video production, including concept brainstorming, shoot assistance, and post-production tasks for digital platforms.
  • Help organize media assets, track coverage, and prepare reports that inform communication strategy.

Qualifications

  • Solid grounding in media communications and public relations, with the ability to support messaging across multiple channels.
  • Capability to build monthly social media strategies and campaign plans.
  • Comfort using Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and similar platforms, along with awareness of current trends, algorithms, and best practices.
  • Experience or familiarity with social media marketing tasks such as content creation, scheduling, and performance monitoring.
  • Hands-on familiarity with Photoshop, CapCut or similar tools, and Canva.
  • Currently studying or recently finished a degree in Communications, Media Studies, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related area.
  • Working knowledge of Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, Shopify, Meta Business Suite, and Google Analytics, including support for growth, optimization, tracking, and online sales efforts.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
  • Interest in fashion, jewelry, and mission-driven brands, plus a willingness to learn and work closely with a small creative team.
  • Comfort using common office and collaboration tools such as Google Workspace or Microsoft Office; social media management tools are an added advantage.

Work Schedule and Conditions

This internship requires two office days each week in the summer, on Thursdays and Fridays, with additional virtual meetings scheduled when needed.

This is an unpaid internship.
