Role overview
This opportunity is for an entry-level through journey-level professional mechanical engineering role within the Office of Electrical, Mechanical, Water & Wastewater Engineering (OEMWW). Reporting to a branch chief and a Senior Mechanical Engineer supervisor, the selected candidate will support the design, specification writing, cost estimation, and inspection of department facilities and systems.
Work environment and facility types
The engineering work covers a broad range of transportation and public infrastructure assets, including storm water drainage pumping plants, sewage lift stations, vehicular tunnels, movable bridges, safety roadside rest areas, highway maintenance stations, equipment repair shops, toll plazas, truck weigh and inspection sites, office buildings, warehouse buildings, vehicle and equipment storage structures, and fueling installations for gas, diesel, and CNG at maintenance stations.
