Tucello runs a peer-to-peer errand and task marketplace that links busy people who need help with nearby trusted runners who can complete tasks and earn income. The company is building a “time infrastructure” by enabling people to delegate physical errands while opening up flexible earning opportunities.
Role Overview
Tucello is looking for a Marketplace Operations Lead to manage marketplace liquidity and keep supply and demand balanced across neighbourhoods. The role focuses on placing the right number of active runners in the right locations at the right times, improving successful task matches, cutting fulfilment delays, and driving repeat usage.
You will partner directly with the CEO to develop and scale Tucello’s neighbourhood-level operating playbook.
Key Responsibilities
- Own runner onboarding, activation, and ongoing retention within priority neighbourhoods.
- Expand runner supply in areas with strong demand.
- Track the balance between demand and available supply, then spot liquidity shortfalls.
- Improve how quickly errands are fulfilled and how often matches succeed.
- Handle manual matching activities when operationally required.
- Run local community engagement channels such as WhatsApp groups, neighbourhood clusters, and field activations.
- Collect and use customer feedback to strengthen operations.
- Collaborate with the product and leadership teams to improve marketplace performance.
- Monitor weekly operating metrics such as active runners, errand completion rates, response times, and repeat usage.
Candidate Profile
Tucello is seeking someone with at least 2 years of experience in operations, logistics, field growth, or marketplace-style businesses. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, can execute reliably, and understands how urban mobility, neighbourhood dynamics, and customer behaviour work in Nigeria.
Strong communication and people management ability are important, along with the discipline to work with both field activity and data. The role suits someone who is organised, resourceful, proactive, and able to operate independently.
Experience in logistics, dispatch, ride-hailing, or gig economy businesses will be considered a strong advantage.
