The platform promotes standout local design and the people behind it through editorial content, social channels, and events, reaching a rapidly expanding national audience. With its community and media presence growing quickly, it is becoming a trusted destination for discovering and connecting with Australia’s leading design talent.

Role overview

This position blends two core areas of work across CO-architecture. On one side, you will help build and safeguard the brand by developing editorial pieces, campaigns, and social content that the industry wants to engage with. On the other, you will support homeowners and members directly by guiding clients through their projects and matching them with suitable professionals. The role is ideal for someone who is equally comfortable shaping a marketing campaign and taking a client consultation call. You will work closely with the founders and be given meaningful ownership from the outset.

Marketing and design

  • Create editorial content for the publication, including project features and studio profiles.
  • Maintain a consistent brand identity across every customer and public touchpoint.
  • Develop design materials for email, social media, websites, presentations, and print using Canva and other tools.
  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns from the initial idea through creative development to launch.
  • Manage the social content calendar, creative direction, and brand voice across an audience of 550,000 followers.

Client and member consultation

  • Handle incoming client enquiries and conduct consultation calls to understand goals, scope, budget, and project timelines.
  • Draft clear project briefs, upload them to the portal, and alert the relevant professionals.
  • Support clients in reviewing responses, narrowing down professionals, and making introductions while tracking progress through the matching process.
  • Send weekly project alerts and source, assess, and upload commercial and government tenders to the portal.
  • Keep records accurate and identify patterns in project type, location, and demand to help inform planning.

What you should bring

You should have experience across both marketing and design, ideally in a brand-focused or editorial environment. A strong portfolio that demonstrates strategic thinking as well as practical design capability is important. The role also calls for excellent writing skills, strong editorial judgement, and a friendly, confident communication style for phone and email conversations. You should be comfortable using Canva and AI tools such as Claude, and be highly organised enough to balance creative tasks with client work in a fast-paced startup environment.

Nice-to-have experience

It will be an advantage if you have exposure to, or a strong interest in, architecture, design, or the built environment. Familiarity with Meta Ads, email marketing platforms, and basic analytics would also be beneficial.
