Job description

About the role

Milk Mart Orlando is seeking a creative marketing professional who can help shape advertising efforts across digital and print channels. The work is mostly remote, but candidates should be able to attend occasional in-person meetings and be available onsite on event days. This is a part-time role estimated at 40 to 60 hours per month, with potential to expand over time.

The ideal person is energized by social media, event promotion, and community culture, with a strong interest in arts, markets, alternative or fringe culture, and Orlando’s local scene. The position calls for someone self-directed, imaginative, and comfortable working across content, campaigns, and outreach.

Compensation and schedule

Pay is $20 to $25 per hour, depending on experience and performance. The role is part-time, with roughly 40 to 60 hours each month. There is room for increased responsibility as the marketing network grows.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and publish engaging marketing assets such as reels, carousels, collages, and similar content that highlight vendors, attendees, and the overall event atmosphere.
  • Plan, organize, and schedule posts across social platforms, whether manually or using scheduling tools.
  • Reuse and adapt content from vendor pages and tagged posts to create fresh promotional material.
  • Identify user-generated content and reshare it to strengthen community participation and vendor visibility.
  • Monitor social media trends and apply relevant ideas to Milk Mart’s content strategy.
  • Keep a social content calendar and planning document updated for pre-event promotion, giveaways, and event-day coverage.
  • Regularly interact with vendors, followers, and attendees through comments and activity across platforms.
  • Work on campaign ideas such as vendor spotlights, event countdowns, behind-the-scenes posts, and event highlights.
  • Maintain a shared repository of post ideas, trend references, and audio concepts.
  • Build and update a library of relevant hashtags and explore tools that improve location-based discoverability.
  • Add upcoming events to community calendars and other relevant listing platforms.
  • Research online calendars and promotional outlets that could extend event reach.
  • Write audience-specific event descriptions for different platforms.
  • Draft press releases and media alerts for major announcements and important events.
  • Support broader marketing and coordination efforts as needed, including collaboration with community operations on creative campaigns.

Required skills and experience

  • Understanding of Orlando’s creative community and local small business ecosystem.
  • Hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Ability to edit short-form video using CapCut or similar software.
  • Working knowledge of Klaviyo.
  • Working knowledge of Webflow.

Growth opportunity

The role is expected to evolve as the organization’s marketing network expands. Future opportunities may include broader calendar research, fresh campaign concepts for online and print, newsletter growth, and new ways to direct customers toward local businesses.

Work arrangement

This position is primarily remote, but occasional on-site meetings and in-person attendance on event dates are required.
