About Sezzle
Sezzle is working to help the next generation gain greater financial access by reimagining how shopping and payments work. The company combines modern technology with installment-based, interest-free purchasing to make buying easier and more accessible. Beyond payments, its model is designed to improve discovery, engagement, merchant conversion, and order value while creating a better end-to-end shopping experience.
Role Overview
The Marketing Manager for Canada will lead the strategy and execution of marketing programs that support user acquisition, merchant acquisition, active user growth, and revenue growth in the Canadian market. This is an individual contributor role for someone who is highly analytical, comfortable working with AI tools, and able to operate effectively in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment.
You will define growth goals, design campaigns backed by data, and collaborate with teams across Strategic Partnerships, Sales, Merchant Success, and Product to make sure marketing investments deliver strong results. Although you will work independently, you will rely on internal partners to unlock the most impactful opportunities.
Key Duties
- Set and manage acquisition targets for Canadian users and merchants, then build campaigns that help achieve those goals.
- Increase active usage through lifecycle marketing, win-back initiatives, and tailored messaging.
- Create campaigns centered on revenue growth, including improvements in transaction volume, basket value, and merchant GMV.
- Choose and optimize the most efficient channels, including paid media, organic tactics, partnerships, and referrals, while improving CAC and ROI.
- Use AI tools to speed up content development, campaign ideation, audience segmentation, and personalization.
- Apply AI-supported insights to spot growth patterns, improve performance, and uncover new opportunities quickly.
- Work with retailers on co-marketing programs that support both consumer acquisition and merchant revenue.
- Design and maintain analytics frameworks to monitor, measure, and share key acquisition, engagement, and revenue metrics.
- Turn business goals into customer personas, journeys, and digital experiences that drive conversion.
- Prepare clear documentation, timelines, and progress updates for stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in marketing or a related discipline, with clear evidence of improving acquisition and revenue outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 3.5 GPA.
- Strong analytical ability and experience using tools such as Redash, Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms.
- Hands-on ownership of metrics such as CAC, LTV, conversion rate, and active user performance.
- Proven success using app marketing channels like push notifications, email, in-app banners, and affiliate programs.
- Experience with email marketing tools such as Braze, Active Campaign, or Stripo.
- Working familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude, especially for content, briefs, and targeting.
- English fluency along with French fluency.
- Ability to collaborate across functions while operating as an individual contributor across all management levels.
- Direct experience using Claude or a comparable large language model is mandatory, with comfort using AI to improve productivity, research, and communication.
- Preferred: experience marketing in fintech and/or retail.
- Preferred: familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
- Preferred: experience building growth strategies from the ground up in fast-paced settings.
Compensation
The annual salary range for this role is CAD 90,000 to CAD 120,000, plus a PSIP bonus. The PSIP bonus is a performance-based cash bonus, generally paid once a year, and tied to individual and/or company performance goals.
About You
- You hold very high standards and consistently raise expectations for quality and performance.
- You are willing to challenge traditional approaches and enjoy finding new ways to solve problems.
- You prefer moving quickly and taking calculated risks when opportunities arise.
- You build trust through respectful communication, active listening, and candid dialogue.
- You can respectfully disagree when needed, and then fully commit once a decision is made.
- You are results-oriented and focus on the key inputs needed to deliver strong outcomes.
- You bring a team-first mindset, strong ownership, and a positive attitude.
