Role overview

The Wolseley Hospitality Group’s head office sits above The Wolseley on Piccadilly and brings together the Director’s office, People, Talent & Culture, Finance, Purchasing, Marketing, and Reservations. This position is a commercially focused marketing leadership role, responsible for defining and executing the organisation’s marketing direction to support revenue growth, stronger brand perception, and deeper customer engagement.

The role blends strategic leadership, digital thinking, and financial ownership. You will work closely with teams across the business to ensure marketing activity supports wider commercial goals, while leading a high-performing team and making sure every investment produces measurable business value.

Responsibilities

Communications

  • Set the brand direction, messaging, and launch strategy across every customer touchpoint and channel.
  • Keep brand, content, and communications work consistent while continuing to bring fresh ideas and innovation.
  • Oversee agencies and outside partners so creative, media, and communications output stays strong and effective.
  • Share brand plans and activity clearly with the wider organisation.
  • Create opening and launch plans for new initiatives.
  • Develop close working relationships with each site and maintain a strong understanding of local needs and results.

Digital and social

  • Lead the approach across paid media, organic channels, CRM, SEO, and external partners to support measurable growth.
  • Use customer insight, data, and performance tracking to refine strategy and improve outcomes.
  • Make sure digital and social activity is fully connected to brand, campaign, and commercial priorities.

Leadership and operations

  • Guide, motivate, and grow the marketing team through clear priorities, direction, and KPIs.
  • Foster a team culture built on creativity, accountability, and ongoing improvement.
  • Put effective processes in place to improve efficiency, teamwork, and quality of output.
  • Build strong working relationships with department heads across the business.

Financial and commercial management

  • Own the marketing budget, including monthly accrual checks, forecasting, and end-of-month P&L preparation.
  • Find opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency without weakening campaign impact.
