About Recognition Media

Recognition Media is a creative company focused on recognizing excellence across the internet and digital industries. It operates prominent awards programs such as The Webby Awards, The Anthem Awards, The Telly Awards, and others that help spotlight standout companies, professionals, and work shaping culture, social impact, and the digital landscape. The company is driven by a genuine interest in creativity, technology, and the people using both to create meaningful change.

Recognition Media is committed to diversity and equal opportunity and aims to build a team with a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives, and abilities.

Role Overview

Recognition Media is hiring a Marketing Content Associate who is inventive, inquisitive, and well organized. This person will help drive content and marketing efforts across multiple brands, contributing to editorial pieces, email campaigns, social content, and multimedia storytelling.

The role suits someone who enjoys researching topics, speaking with industry professionals, shaping editorial features, writing persuasive marketing copy, and using AI and automation tools to improve efficiency. A strong interest in storytelling, internet culture, new technology, and the fast-changing digital world is important.

This is a full-time, hybrid position based in the Flatiron office in New York City and reports to the Group’s Marketing Director.

Key Responsibilities

The position involves managing content ideas and projects from early concept through publication and promotion, while collaborating closely with the broader team.

  • Research and propose ideas for editorial features, interviews, newsletters, content series, and marketing campaigns.
  • Take content projects from the initial concept stage through publication, distribution, and promotion.
  • Turn interviews and research into polished editorial articles, feature stories, and thought leadership content.
  • Tailor messaging for different audiences while protecting brand voice and editorial quality.
  • Publish and oversee content across websites, email systems, social platforms, and other digital channels.
  • Produce and edit basic video assets for social and marketing use, guided by trend analysis, research, and industry insight.
  • Create simple visuals in tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or similar design software.
  • Optimize content for engagement, platform standards, and SEO where relevant.
  • Track content results and suggest improvements to strengthen future performance and audience engagement.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience in editorial work, content marketing, copywriting, journalism, communications, or a related discipline.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading ability.
  • Hands-on experience creating both short-form and long-form content.
  • Solid research, interviewing, and storytelling skills.
  • Proven ability to manage projects independently from concept to completion with limited oversight.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfort handling several projects, deadlines, and priorities at the same time.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range is $60,000 to $75,000 per year. The package also includes a competitive bonus program and a benefits offering covering health, dental, and vision insurance, with the company paying 100% of employee premiums and 70% of dependent premiums. Additional annual enrollment options are available for an FSA program, retirement plan, dependent care program, and TransitChek/commuter program. The company also provides life insurance, paid annual leave, paid time off, and paid sick leave.
