Role Summary

The organisation is hiring a detail-focused and analytical Market Research Analyst to assist with tourism economics, visitation reporting, and market intelligence work. The position involves research, data analysis, and the creation of insights that help guide business decisions. It is designed for someone who is comfortable operating within established reporting structures and who values accuracy, consistency, and on-time delivery. The role will suit a person who enjoys working with data, producing recurring reports, and converting complex findings into practical takeaways for different stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out market research, data analysis, and reporting to produce useful insights that support decision-making.
  • Review tourism, visitation, economic, and market datasets to spot patterns, opportunities, and important findings.
  • Build and share clear reports, presentations, and dashboards for both internal and external audiences.
  • Help improve research methods, reporting frameworks, and publication standards over time.
  • Work with cross-functional teams on visitor insights, research activities, and broader business priorities.
  • Maintain databases, datasets, and records while preserving accuracy, consistency, integrity, and easy access.
  • Assist with collecting, checking, and interpreting data from several sources, including API-based feeds.
  • Turn complex research and data outputs into concise, actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Give regular progress updates on tasks, deliverables, and outcomes to support planning and resource tracking.
  • Make sure reporting work is completed within the required timelines and quality expectations.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven background in market research, data analysis, economic analysis, tourism analytics, or a similar area.
  • Strong ability to analyse information and turn it into practical recommendations.
  • Advanced Excel capability, including Power Query and integrating data through APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI for visual reporting and dashboard creation.
  • Strong presentation development skills, including confidence using Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information to varied audiences.
  • High attention to detail, good planning skills, and the ability to handle several priorities at once.
  • Experience with tourism, visitor, economic, or consumer market data would be an advantage.
  • Exposure to business intelligence, data visualisation, and reporting environments is desirable.
  • Familiarity with API-based data sources and automated reporting workflows is desirable.
