Role overview

The Market Manager serves as a subject-matter guide and local champion for a designated multi-state territory. This position is focused on strengthening marketplace growth through hands-on market engagement, regional partnerships, event-driven marketing, and sales support. The role is designed to build authentic connections and deliver programming that meaningfully advances the brand’s position as a category leader.

Key responsibilities

  • Own assigned regional territories and work toward marketing targets and business goals.
  • Increase the customer base by driving acquisition activity across the full funnel.
  • Partner with the revenue team, dispensary accounts, and brand partners on recurring visits and retail appreciation-day activations.
  • Deepen client relationships through high-value engagement and support efforts.
  • Maintain current partnerships while creating opportunities with new prospective customers.
  • Develop and run culturally aligned programs that serve clients, customers, and the broader industry.
  • Collaborate with the Cultural and Events team to identify and propose locally relevant activations.
  • Deliver programs within an assigned marketing budget.
  • Adapt regional marketing plans to maximize field spend and local impact.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to build and execute campaigns, partnerships, and events in the market.
  • Create strategic partnerships with culturally relevant organizations and collaborators.
  • Measure the ROI of partnerships, events, campaigns, and marketing initiatives.
  • Support overall goals and programs across revenue and marketing teams.
  • Lead collaborative partnership programs across categories such as entertainment, fashion, cause-driven initiatives, creative industries, and sports.
  • Oversee event production from planning to wrap-up, including negotiations, project management, budgeting, invoicing, internal coordination, vendor management, risk review, logistics, permits, shipping, load-in/load-out, setup, teardown, merchandising, staffing, and reporting.
  • Motivate team members with clear direction, goals, and actionable feedback.
  • Manage stakeholders effectively to support regional OKR achievement.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are trained and operating to company standards.
  • Drive a company-owned vehicle for business-related events.

Experience and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related discipline.
  • At least 7 years of experience in marketing or a comparable management position.
  • Working knowledge of cannabis marketing best practices.
  • Professional, philanthropic, or community involvement in the cannabis industry.
  • Hands-on experience with marketing tools and software.
  • Background working in the technology sector.
  • Comfort working with colleagues and stakeholders across different levels and backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities.
  • Leadership, problem-solving, and networking strengths.
  • Valid driver’s license with minimal points.
  • Ability to travel up to 80%.
  • Prior cannabis industry experience is considered an advantage.

Compensation and benefits

The base salary for this role is $99,633 to $113,500 per year, plus a competitive bonus opportunity.
