The role sits within the manufacturing team and contributes to building innovative products while also helping with related activities across the business.

Main purpose of the role

This position focuses on hands-on manufacturing work for medical devices, carried out in line with ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, Medical Device Directives 93/42/EEC and 2007/47/EC, and the Vivasure Medical Quality Management System.

Key duties

  • Assemble sub-components and completed devices, including packaging tasks for testing, clinical use, and commercial shipment.
  • Carry out visual and dimensional checks on parts and sub-assemblies according to documented methods and standards.
  • Issue materials to the production line and set up tools, equipment, and fixtures for manufacturing activities.
  • Support the material control process, including incoming checks, material release, and traceability tracking.
  • Take part in training and build the capability to perform manufacturing and inspection tasks efficiently.
  • Help prepare and run in-process device testing, and accurately record the results.
  • Spot opportunities to improve product quality and output, and contribute to implementing those improvements.
  • When needed, coach team members on assembly, inspection, and testing methods.
  • Follow approved work instructions and procedures at all times.
  • Complete paper-based and electronic quality documentation in line with GDP expectations.
  • Show reliability in attendance, follow work and break schedules, and maintain required quality and productivity levels.

Qualifications and experience

A Leaving Certificate or an equivalent qualification is the minimum requirement. A third-level qualification would be an advantage.

Candidates should have at least 4 years of medical device manufacturing experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a cleanroom environment, or an equivalent background. Experience with GDP and GMP standards would be beneficial.

Skills and attributes

The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, manual dexterity, a high level of initiative, strong attention to detail, the ability to work with limited supervision, and solid computer literacy, particularly in Excel and Word.
