This contract opportunity is for a Manual Tester to work onsite in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The position focuses on validating business and functional requirements, building reliable test coverage, and supporting quality assurance activities across the software delivery lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Review business and functional requirements and translate them into detailed test scenarios and cases.
- Create, update, and run manual test scripts, with automation exposure being a plus where needed.
- Log, monitor, and manage software defects using tracking platforms such as JIRA.
- Carry out multiple testing types, including functional, integration, regression, and UAT support.
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, and product stakeholders to resolve ambiguities and strengthen test coverage.
- Take part in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Help improve testing methods, documentation quality, and overall QA processes.
- Maintain full traceability between requirements and test cases.
Required Skills and Background
Applicants should have a strong grasp of the full testing lifecycle and practical exposure to retail systems. Experience with Microsoft Power Apps in retail-related use cases such as timesheets, allowances, cash discrepancies, staff management, and staff allocation is expected. Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools such as PractiTest, JIRA, and ALM is important. The role also calls for solid SQL knowledge for database-level validation, comfort with Agile/Scrum delivery, and strong communication, analytical, and documentation skills. ISTQB certification is preferred.
