Job description
Position Summary
MOBCO Group is looking for a seasoned Risk Management Manager to direct how project risks are found, assessed, reduced, and monitored across major construction and mega-project assignments. This position plays a key role in protecting project targets for budget, timeline, quality, safety, and contractual compliance through proactive risk oversight.
The successful candidate should bring a solid engineering foundation along with at least 12 years of experience in construction risk management or project controls, especially within large-scale mega construction environments. Strong analytical thinking, a deep grasp of construction execution methods, and a track record of handling complex project settings are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Risk identification and register development across all project stages, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
Creation and upkeep of a detailed project risk register.
Classification of risks across technical, commercial, contractual, operational, safety, and external categories.
Facilitation of recurring risk workshops with project stakeholders and discipline engineers.
Qualitative and quantitative risk evaluation to measure potential exposure.
Assessment of how risks may affect cost, schedule, and quality.
Schedule risk analysis and identification of major risk drivers.
Support for Monte Carlo simulations and advanced risk modeling when needed.
Development of mitigation actions and contingency plans for identified risks.
Coordination with planning, cost control, and engineering teams to carry out mitigation measures.
Monitoring of risk response effectiveness and escalation of high-severity risks to senior management with practical recommendations.
Integration of risk processes with project planning and cost control activities.
Close collaboration with Planning Managers to understand schedule impacts.
Coordination with Cost Control Managers to assess financial exposure.
Support for Earned Value Management and forecasting work.
Preparation of risk reports, dashboards, and executive summaries on a regular basis.
Presentation of risk updates to project leadership and client representatives.
Maintenance of records for audits, compliance checks, and governance requirements.
Support in identifying contractual exposures linked to project risks.
Assistance with delay analysis and claims preparation, including EOT and disruption cases.
Evaluation of how risk affects contractual duties and milestone achievement.
Coordination with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and subcontractors.
Leadership of risk review meetings and alignment discussions across functions.
Clear communication of critical risks to senior leaders and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering field.
At least 12 years of relevant experience in construction risk management or project controls.
Hands-on experience with mega construction projects such as infrastructure, hospitality, industrial, or other major developments.
Strong understanding of construction project phases and delivery methodologies.
Prior exposure to construction work in the GCC or Saudi Arabia is preferred.
