Role Overview

The Manager of the EHR Integration Team is a key people leadership position responsible for leading EHR Integration Leads and Associates. The role owns the smooth delivery of customer integrations, works to improve metrics such as time to first value and integration NPS, and continuously refines team processes. This leader partners closely with teams across implementations, project management, customer success, sales, and product, and should bring a blend of strategy, leadership, technical depth, project coordination, and customer-facing skills.

Key Responsibilities

This position combines team management, delivery oversight, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration. The manager may also step in to lead complex integrations when needed, especially when team capacity is tight or the project is highly complex.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Guide, coach, and support the EHR Integration team while encouraging career growth and development.
  • Plan team capacity and schedules so the group can handle new integrations and conversion work effectively.
  • Track and improve core performance measures, including time to first value and NPS, by introducing ongoing enhancements.

Customer Delivery Oversight

  • Support difficult EHR integration programs, including conversion projects, and act as the escalation point for issues and risks.
  • In some cases, directly manage integrations when team workload or project complexity requires it.
  • Monitor all active integrations to keep milestones and deliverables on schedule.
  • Oversee the setup, testing, troubleshooting, and long-term stability of FHIR applications across customer accounts.
  • Keep CRM and project management records current so the team has accurate information for internal and customer use.

Process and Tool Improvement

  • Drive improvements to workflows, documentation, and internal tools used for integrations.
  • Create scalable methods for managing several integrations at once without losing consistency or quality.
  • Share regular updates with leadership on team output, capacity, and project status.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Work closely with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and other internal groups to support a seamless customer experience and clear integration scoping.
  • Strengthen the handoff from sales to integration and from integration to Customer Success so information transfer is more efficient and reliable.
  • Represent customer needs and recurring integration themes to the Product team and translate those patterns into actionable feedback.
  • Stay informed on current EHR interoperability trends to improve both customer conversations and internal operations.

Ideal Qualifications

Candidates should bring leadership experience in healthtech SaaS integrations, a strong technical understanding of EHR connectivity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining excellent communication and customer focus. Prior experience in a growth-stage SaaS environment or a similar role in a larger organization is preferred. The position also requires willingness to travel up to 20% per year.

Required Experience and Technical Background

  • At least 4 years of experience leading and supporting healthtech SaaS integrations.
  • Experience working in a growth-stage SaaS company or a comparable function in a larger organization.
  • Hands-on knowledge of HL7 and FHIR integration standards, EHR systems such as Epic, Athena, and Meditech, and integration middleware or engines.
  • Comfort working directly with health system IT teams on technical scoping, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Exposure to data ingestion pipelines, API interfaces, and SQL-based database tools is beneficial.
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities, with a proven ability to manage several people and projects at the same time.
  • Capability to balance day-to-day execution with a broader view of customer and team priorities.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across internal functions.
  • Willingness to travel as needed, up to 20% annually.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using CRM and project management platforms for customer tracking, knowledge management, reporting, dashboards, and support workflows.
  • Background in patient-reported outcomes.
  • Experience managing implementations for healthcare providers or enterprise customers.
  • Exposure to technical pre-sales scoping and setting expectations for EHR integrations during the sales process.
