About the Role
The Center Manager will be responsible for keeping the MU–VT IARCT² center running smoothly from both an operational and administrative standpoint. The role involves bringing together research teams, faculty, industry partners, funding bodies, and other institutional stakeholders so that center activities stay coordinated and on track.
This position suits a proactive professional who is comfortable working in a fast-moving, multidisciplinary research environment and brings strong capabilities in organization, communication, coordination, and project handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily functioning of MU–VT IARCT² and ensure routine activities are well coordinated.
- Act as a link between the Mahindra University and Virginia Tech teams to support effective collaboration.
- Help plan, implement, and track interdisciplinary research projects and center-led initiatives.
- Maintain project files, prepare reports, organize review discussions, and monitor progress against timelines.
- Assist with proposal development, sponsored research processes, and identification of funding opportunities.
- Support the coordination of workshops, conferences, seminars, industry engagements, and outreach programs.
- Keep accurate records of projects, publications, patents, partnerships, and key center milestones.
- Create and manage digital communication content such as newsletters, reports, website updates, and promotional material.
- Support senior leadership in strategic planning, relationship building, and institutional engagement.
- Work closely with faculty members, research scholars, administrative teams, and external agencies to ensure the center operates effectively.
- Help strengthen collaborations with academic, industry, and government organizations in India and abroad.
Required Qualifications
- A master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Technology Management, Management, Public Policy, or a closely related field.
- Good awareness of research environments, cross-disciplinary projects, and higher education institutions.
- Prior experience in project coordination, research administration, innovation management, or center operations is preferred.
- Strong command of written and spoken communication.
- Well-developed organizational, interpersonal, and multitasking skills.
- Comfort with documentation, reporting, digital communication, and project management software/tools.
- Experience supporting sponsored research, grants, accreditation, or institutional partnerships is an advantage.

- Strong ability to solve problems and manage stakeholder relationships.
- Interest in innovation ecosystems, new technologies, and research-led institutional growth.
- Prior exposure to international collaborations and academic-industry partnerships will be beneficial.
