Role overview
This is a manager-level instructional design position in the United States, shared by an external hiring partner that handles applications and all subsequent hiring steps. The role brings together learning strategy, operational discipline, and performance improvement in a fast-moving, multi-location business. You will lead the full instructional design function, turning complex procedures, systems, and policies into learning programs that are clear, scalable, and engaging. The position calls for both strategic judgment and practical delivery, with responsibility for setting learning standards, advising stakeholders, and making sure training efforts contribute to business results. You will also act as a trusted learning advisor, helping leaders pinpoint performance gaps and choose the right training solution. This is a highly visible role with direct influence on operational consistency and employee performance across the organization.
Accountabilities
- Lead the complete instructional design process from identifying needs and designing solutions to building, launching, and improving learning programs over time.
- Create and uphold instructional design standards, governance practices, templates, and accessibility expectations so learning materials remain consistent and scalable.
- Convert detailed business workflows, systems, and policies into role-specific learning content delivered through digital, blended, and instructor-led formats.
- Partner with business stakeholders as a strategic learning consultant, diagnosing performance issues and recommending training methods aligned to organizational goals.
- Drive the design and development of onboarding, systems education, operational rollouts, compliance training, and broader enterprise learning efforts.
- Oversee LMS publishing, learning content structure, quality checks, and ongoing maintenance to keep materials accurate and easy to use.
- Measure learning impact through data, feedback, and performance indicators, then refine programs based on what the evidence shows.
- Contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives by creating learning assets for workshops, major programs, and organizational events.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning and Development, Education, Communications, Business, or a closely related area, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in instructional design, learning and development, or training content creation.
- Demonstrated ownership of the full instructional design lifecycle, from analysis through evaluation.
- Strong command of adult learning theory and instructional design methods.
- Proven experience creating e-learning, blended learning, video-based learning, and job aids or other performance support tools.
- Strong project management capability, including handling multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced setting.
- Hands-on experience with LMS platforms, SCORM packages, and content publishing processes.
- Excellent communication, writing, and visual design skills, plus strong attention to detail.
- Ability to simplify complex operational and technical topics into practical, easy-to-follow learning materials.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Preferred experience in operational settings such as hospitality, real estate, or student housing, as well as system rollout work or bilingual English/Spanish capability.
- Familiarity with tools such as Articulate 360, Vyond, Iorad, Canva, or similar platforms is an advantage.
