Client overview

The employer is a long-established, internationally known organization in container shipping and maritime logistics, headquartered in Singapore and operating across major global trade routes. They are expanding their operational excellence capability to strengthen efficiency, performance management, and sustainable growth worldwide.

Role summary

This is a strategic leadership position focused on building and running the company’s global operational efficiency framework. The role is responsible for embedding continuous improvement across international offices, uncovering savings opportunities, setting up strong performance measures, and working closely with stakeholders across functions to deliver data-led improvements.

Strategic efficiency and process improvement

  • Shape and drive the global roadmap for operational efficiency while promoting a continuous improvement culture across all international locations.
  • Assess cost structures, operating benchmarks, and performance gaps to identify waste and design practical corrective actions.
  • Work with leaders from different functions to develop initiatives that are measurable, scalable, and capable of improving resource use and financial outcomes.
  • Encourage trial runs, new workflow experiments, and innovative approaches across regional teams.

Program management and governance

  • Oversee the global efficiency portfolio and provide clear, timely progress updates to senior leadership.
  • Review and verify operational data and savings figures submitted by regional business units and agencies to ensure accuracy, openness, and alignment with corporate controls.
  • Capture, document, and promote effective operating practices so they can be adopted consistently across the global network.

Logistics division performance and KPI management

  • Manage the consolidated KPI tracking system for the global logistics division.
  • Review and validate departmental performance measures before they are submitted to corporate leadership.
  • Lead cross-functional projects that support the rollout of optimization initiatives and measure their effect on spending and operational activity.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or master’s qualification in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a similar field.
  • Over 10 years of progressive experience in maritime operations, global supply chain, or enterprise-wide process improvement roles.
  • Strong exposure to liner shipping, maritime logistics, or container shipping operations will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex stakeholder relationships and influencing cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority.
  • A highly analytical, data-led approach with strong problem-solving ability for process and financial analysis.
  • Experience acting as a change leader and coaching teams on efficiency methods such as Lean and Six Sigma is important.
