Job description
The Person
You should be motivated by the chance to help shape service development within DMC’s Financial Service Team and across the wider business. The role gives you exposure to decisions that influence how care is delivered.
The Role
This is a strong opportunity for a part-qualified CIMA candidate who wants to progress professionally and grow within the organisation. The position places emphasis on reporting and on making sure key business stakeholders receive clear updates and outputs.
Core Responsibilities
You will work across a wide mix of accounting activities, including, but not limited to:
- Assigning costs to the right categories.
- Supporting budget control and monitoring.
- Preparing management accounts.
- Producing cash flow forecasts.
- Reviewing procedures and internal controls.
- Keeping the chart of accounts and coding structure up to date.
- Meeting reporting and delivery deadlines.
- Assisting with debtor collection.
- Managing supplier statements.
- Reviewing aged balances and stock.
- Handling company credit cards, expenses, and Concur-related processes.
- Checking standing orders and direct debits.
- Helping build small systems such as Smart Forms.
The position suits someone who is eager to learn, comfortable handling varied work, and keen to strengthen management accounting capability while contributing to a committed team in a fast-moving sector.
The role is flexible and may involve support on ad hoc financial and non-financial projects as the business requires.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Confident use of spreadsheets and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong Excel capability, including PivotTables, charts, statistical and accounting functions, data validation, and conditional formatting.
- Ability to prepare management accounts and present data clearly for internal and external audiences.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational habits.
- Comfort working at pace and delivering to deadlines.
- Strong numerical ability.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Genuine interest in building finance and data skills.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in primary care finance.
- Familiarity with CQRS.
- Familiarity with PCSE.
Qualifications & Experience
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related subject is preferred.
- Prior bookkeeping experience or a similar background is preferred.
