About the Company

Aster Chemicals and Energy is a major chemical and energy solutions provider, with roots in Singapore’s first oil refinery. The company supports supply, commercial performance, and operational excellence across Singapore and Southeast Asia. Its assets include a refinery with capacity above 300,000 barrels per day, a 1.1 million metric ton naphtha cracker at Pulau Bukom, and 2.5 million metric tons of downstream chemical facilities on Jurong Island.

Role Overview

This position is centered on strengthening and standardizing how maintenance and turnaround planning is done at Aster. The role also involves planning support for plant unit maintenance work, along with training and coaching new team members. You will work closely with discipline engineers to review existing work plans and improve them for better efficiency and smoother execution on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Uphold HSSE standards, procedures, and site requirements at all times to support Goal Zero and maintain a safe working environment.
• Actively challenge unsafe behavior on site and contribute to a healthier, safer workplace culture.
• Maintain a high level of accountability and performance to help deliver site and department targets.
• Support site reliability improvement initiatives and contribute to continuous enhancement efforts.
• Share feedback on how effective preventive maintenance is based on site processes and outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to remove waste and apply lean maintenance principles, then work with stakeholders to close gaps.
• Use SAP CMMS in line with company maintenance and business procedures.
• Lead efforts to improve and standardize maintenance and turnaround planning practices across Aster.
• Assist with maintenance planning for preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, shutdowns, and pitstop activities.
• Support turnaround planning activities for the site.
• Perform any other related duties as needed.

Requirements

• Diploma or university degree in Engineering, with 3 to 8 years of experience in the petrochemical sector.
• Hands-on experience in maintenance and turnaround execution, including detailed scope planning for a range of maintenance activities.
• Good understanding of maintenance and turnaround processes.
• Working knowledge of SAP CMMS is preferred.
• Exposure to maintenance and turnaround contracts, including contractor coordination for planning different work activities.
• Ability to build strong working relationships across departments, production units, and contractors on site.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and comfortable working as part of a team.

Location

This role is based at Pulau Bukom, Singapore.
