Job description

Job Summary

The Maintenance Planner is essential for ensuring dependable plant operations by meticulously planning, prioritizing, and coordinating all maintenance tasks. This role involves managing preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, overseeing the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and guaranteeing that all necessary materials, tools, and resources are readily available for efficient and safe execution of maintenance work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate incoming maintenance requests to clearly define the scope of work required.
  • Create comprehensive job plans, detailing necessary labor, materials, tools, and time estimates.
  • Prioritize work orders based on critical factors such as safety, urgency, and impact on production.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to synchronize maintenance schedules with planned production downtime.
  • Confirm the availability of all required parts, tools, and equipment before commencing any job.
  • Generate, manage, and update work orders within the CMMS.
  • Monitor supplier deliveries, associated documentation, and inventory adjustments.
  • Maintain precise records and documentation related to all maintenance activities.
  • Analyze daily maintenance KPIs, including downtime and equipment availability, and formulate corrective action plans.
  • Produce MVP work orders based on identified maintenance requirements.
  • Contribute to ongoing continuous improvement efforts and uphold 5S standards in all work areas.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Demonstrated proficiency in maintenance planning and scheduling software.
  • Experience in administering CMMS work order systems, with a preference for MVP.
  • Solid understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance KPIs.
  • Thorough knowledge of industrial safety regulations and best practices.
  • Capability to analyze data effectively and make sound, data-driven decisions.
  • Technical expertise in both mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and user manuals.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and coordination abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Qualifications

  • An Associate’s degree in a relevant technical discipline is preferred.
  • Previous experience in industrial maintenance operations is required.
  • Proven experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, and inventory coordination.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience within foam or polyurethane manufacturing environments is a plus.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, direct-hire position located in Selma, AL. The work environment is fully on-site. Please note that visa transfers or sponsorship are not available for this role, and candidates on OPT/CPT/F1 visas are not eligible.
