Overview

Anglicare Sydney is seeking a Maintenance Officer to support the day-to-day upkeep of St David’s Village in Forestville. The role sits within the organisation’s seniors communities and helps ensure residents live in a setting that is safe, functional, well-kept and welcoming.

This position is a full-time, Monday to Friday onsite role. It is practical and varied, ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in quality finishes and is comfortable working in a community-focused environment.

St David’s Village is described as a vibrant retirement living community with attractive grounds, shared spaces and a strong sense of connection.

Key duties

  • Perform routine repair and maintenance work across the village, including items such as doors, locks, painting, minor roofing, gutter cleaning, basic concreting and gardening tasks.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance on village facilities and assets.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests.
  • Keep tools and equipment in safe, working condition.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of completed work and safety actions.
  • Help preserve a clean, secure and comfortable environment for residents.
  • Deal courteously with residents, staff members and external contractors.

What you need

  • Background in general maintenance, handyman work or similar practical roles.
  • Working knowledge of tools, materials and common maintenance tasks.
  • Current NSW driver’s licence.
  • Basic computer and iPhone capability.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive work style.
  • Ability to organise your time and work with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and following procedures.

Additional information

Experience in retirement living, aged care or a similar setting is considered an advantage.
