About the Role

Working as a full-time Maintenance Officer and reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the hotel’s day-to-day upkeep, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities.

Your work will involve general building maintenance, attending to maintenance requests, and carrying out planned preventive tasks to help keep the property safe, operational, and well presented. You will work with hotel teams and outside contractors, using clear communication, dependability, and a practical problem-solving approach to keep operations running smoothly.

This position suits someone who enjoys hands-on work, values ownership of their work environment, and takes pride in maintaining a property to a consistently high standard.

What You Need to Bring

The ideal candidate will have solid experience as a Maintenance Officer, Handyperson, or in a similar practical maintenance role. Backgrounds in painting, construction, building maintenance, or related fields will be well regarded.

You should be confident identifying and fixing a variety of maintenance issues, with a strong working knowledge of workplace health and safety, relevant regulations, and compliance expectations.

Key Duties

  • Carry out routine building upkeep and general repair work across the hotel.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance issues and service requests.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance tasks to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external contractors as needed.
  • Maintain a neat, safe, and high-quality presentation throughout the property.
  • Use practical judgement to diagnose problems and apply workable solutions.

Experience and Skills

  • Hands-on experience in property, facilities, or building maintenance.
  • Ability to perform general repairs, painting, and non-trade maintenance work.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Clear and professional communication with colleagues and contractors.
  • Strong focus on safety, compliance, and presentation standards.
