Role overview

This is a permanent full-time maintenance role based mainly in the Metro North East area, including suburbs on the Lower North Shore. The position may occasionally require work at other locations.

Compensation and work arrangement

The annual salary for this role is $98,000. The role is permanent and full time, with a 35-hour working week. Additional benefits include 17% annual leave loading, a company van and equipment, and access to salary packaging options.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver prompt, courteous, and effective minor repair and maintenance services to tenants in residential properties.
  • Respond to customer questions and requests with empathy, care, and urgency.
  • Visit social housing properties to assess repair needs and arrange suitable materials to complete the work.
  • Coordinate with Tenancy Managers to secure timely access to properties for maintenance activities.
  • Work closely with other handypersons and internal teams to support small projects and improve customer outcomes.
  • Accurately gather and maintain tenancy-related and other required records.
  • Follow safe work procedures and remain alert to their application by yourself and others.
  • Use standard office tools such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

What you will need

  • Substantial experience in residential repair and maintenance work.
  • Working knowledge of Australian Standards, the BCA, and relevant statutory obligations.
  • Solid understanding of WHS requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good planning, organisation, and time management abilities.
  • Current NSW driver licence.
  • Willingness and ability to drive regularly over long distances.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift heavy items and use different tools, machinery, and equipment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Excel.
