Role overview

The Maintenance Handyman will be responsible for keeping day-to-day maintenance work running smoothly and to a high standard. The position covers properties in Munich and, from time to time, Freising. Candidates should ideally live in or close to Munich.

Key duties

• Carry out routine and preventive maintenance to keep the properties in strong condition.
• Complete small carpentry jobs, painting tasks, and furniture repairs.
• Act quickly on guest maintenance complaints and service requests.
• Coordinate and supervise external contractors for larger repairs, refurbishments, or equipment installations.
• Track maintenance materials and make sure equipment and tools remain safe and usable.
• Follow health and safety rules and conduct regular property checks.
• Keep clear and accurate logs of inspections, fixes, and maintenance work.
• Support testing of emergency systems and suggest ways to improve energy efficiency.
• Partner with operations and housekeeping teams to help maintain guest satisfaction.
• Assist with operational projects and help colleagues with minor technical issues.
• Work with the General Manager on budgets and timelines for bigger maintenance assignments.

Candidate profile

The ideal applicant has completed vocational training in a skilled trade and has hands-on experience with routine and preventive maintenance in a property or hospitality setting. Practical ability in carpentry, painting, and furniture repair is important, along with a basic understanding of household appliances and their upkeep. The role also requires familiarity with health and safety practices, including fire safety, and confidence in carrying out inspections and maintaining records. Strong responsiveness for reactive maintenance, good teamwork, communication, and project coordination skills are needed. Basic German and English communication skills are required. A valid driving licence is a plus.
