About the role

This is a full-time Maintenance Electrician position based at the Marley site in Manurewa, Auckland. The role is hands-on and fast-paced, supporting manufacturing operations through rotating shifts: day shift from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm and afternoon shift from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

You will be responsible for keeping production equipment running safely and efficiently, while also contributing to improvements, reliability and overall site performance. The role suits someone who takes pride in high-quality work, enjoys solving electrical issues and wants to make a meaningful day-to-day impact.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out planned, preventative and predictive electrical maintenance across site equipment such as extruders, moulders, crushing machinery and related auxiliary systems.
  • Act quickly and safely when electrical failures occur by diagnosing faults, troubleshooting problems and completing repairs to reduce production downtime.
  • Partner with the Electrical Team Leader and share maintenance feedback with the Maintenance Planner.
  • Work alongside the mechanical team to resolve issues efficiently and cooperatively.
  • Investigate equipment failures and apply corrective actions to help prevent repeat breakdowns.
  • Spot opportunities to improve reliability, productivity and site safety, then help implement those improvements.
  • Make sure plant and site equipment is ready and operational before production starts.
  • Identify health and safety hazards early and work with others to maintain a safe workplace.

What the employer is looking for

  • At least 5 years of experience in heavy industrial machinery, manufacturing or processing environments.
  • Trade-qualified electrician with EWRB registration and a current practising licence.
  • Hands-on experience with LOTO, JSEA, SWMS, Take 5 and PTW processes.
  • Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to work to daily deadlines.
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative, low-ego approach when working with operators, fitters and other electricians.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety and to following best practice.
  • Genuine interest in supporting others and sharing technical knowledge with the wider team.
  • Reliable, proactive, punctual and detail-focused, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Benefits

  • A competitive hourly rate.
  • Uniforms, shift allowance and tool allowance are provided.
  • Overtime opportunities are available for those who want additional hours.
  • A strong safety-focused workplace with a goal of zero harm.
  • Training and development support to help you grow in the role.
  • The chance to work for a company that values sustainability and positive impact.
  • Industry-leading paid parental leave: 26 weeks for primary carers and 4 weeks for secondary carers.
  • Employee Assistance Program support for you and your family.
  • Recognition initiatives and service awards.
  • Mentoring opportunities to help develop your career.
  • Opportunity to join the global DEI council.
