Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site position in Erode for a Loom Planner - Weaving Preparatory. The role centers on organizing and controlling warp preparation activities so looms receive material on time and production runs smoothly. The planner works closely with production and maintenance teams to assign looms, set batch schedules, and reduce idle time. The position also requires monitoring material availability, reviewing output against targets, keeping records up to date, and supporting ongoing improvements in weaving preparatory operations.
Core Work Areas
- Plan and coordinate winding, warping, sizing, and beam preparation activities.
- Ensure looms are supplied efficiently through timely preparation of warp materials.
- Work with production and maintenance teams to allocate looms and organize batch schedules.
- Track raw material stock and watch production progress against daily and weekly fabric goals.
- Update records accurately and support reporting requirements for the shop floor.
- Help maintain quality standards and contribute to process improvement in weaving preparatory work.
Qualifications and Working Expectations
Candidates should have a solid grasp of weaving preparatory operations and loom planning in a textile manufacturing environment. The ability to understand production plans, fabric specifications, and process settings is important, along with careful attention to quality and efficiency. Familiarity with production planning systems, manual or digital recordkeeping, and daily mill reporting is useful. Strong coordination and communication skills are needed to work effectively with production, maintenance, quality, and stores teams. The role is based on-site in Erode and is full-time, with flexibility for shifts or longer hours when production demands it. A diploma or certificate in Textile Technology, Weaving, or a related discipline is preferred, and experience in textile mills or weaving units will be considered an advantage. Candidates should also be committed to safety, housekeeping, and compliance with company procedures and SOPs.
