Job description

Role Overview

DP World is hiring a Logistics Transport Planner to join its Control Tower team in Limerick, Ireland. In this role, you will coordinate with managers, internal support functions, warehouse operations, customer representatives, and third-party carriers to manage everyday planning activity. Your focus will be on making sure orders move into production on time and are handed to carriers in line with the expected ship date so service-level commitments are achieved. The position also requires close communication, prompt escalation of any system or operational issues affecting customer shipments, and ongoing follow-through until those issues are resolved. You will be expected to manage more complex customer queries and help maintain a high standard of customer satisfaction.

Key Duties

  • Release orders into production promptly and transfer them to carriers according to the planned ship date so SLA targets are met.
  • Keep communication flowing across DP World teams and customer teams, and raise any system or operational disruptions affecting shipments as soon as they appear.
  • Prepare daily planning trackers and operational reports.
  • Handle order management and outbound planning tasks.
  • Compile, review, and act on reporting packs for key account customers and DP World business needs in line with KPI expectations.
  • Check that KPI and SLA figures for outbound activity are accurate.
  • Configure, verify, and reconcile incoming updates against the WMS.
  • Review customer backlog every day and send daily status updates to the customer.
  • Take part in weekly carrier and customer meetings, plus monthly reviews and QBR sessions.
  • Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reporting from the DP World TMS platform according to customer and carrier-specific reporting requirements.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should have fluent spoken and written English, along with at least two years of experience in customer service or logistics planning, ideally in a logistics or supply chain setting. The role calls for excellent communication, strong troubleshooting ability, and a proactive mindset when dealing with customer questions and operational challenges. You should be highly organised, comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a busy environment, and skilled in Microsoft Office tools. Experience with CRM platforms or ticketing systems is also important. The ability to work collaboratively and support colleagues during peak periods and holiday cover is expected.

Compensation and Work Environment

DP World describes the role as part of a growing international organisation that offers challenging work, room for personal development, and an informal working atmosphere. The company states that it provides a market-competitive compensation package.
