Job Overview
This role is centered on keeping the company’s logistics and supply chain activities running smoothly, efficiently, and in a cost-conscious manner. It covers the full logistics cycle, starting with sourcing services and ending with final delivery, and includes warehousing, fleet coordination, and port-related activities. The position serves as the key contact point between the business and outside logistics partners, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines, staying within budget, maintaining service quality, and improving processes over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Stay in close contact with suppliers to confirm readiness dates and collect all required documents such as invoices, packing lists, and telex release documents when needed.
- Compare shipment-ready items against purchase orders to identify gaps or mismatches and escalate any variances.
- Negotiate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and courier providers to secure better commercial terms without compromising service standards.
- Build and maintain effective long-term relationships with logistics partners and review their performance regularly against SLA commitments.
- Track logistics spending closely, uncover opportunities to reduce costs, and support cost-saving initiatives.
- Check shipping and logistics invoices carefully for accuracy before sending them to the finance team for payment processing.
- Study logistics data, prepare performance reports, and use findings to support better operational and strategic decisions.
- Spot opportunities to improve workflows, increase efficiency, lower expenses, and strengthen service levels across the supply chain.
- Take ownership of logistics issues such as delays, damage, pricing mismatches, and quality concerns, and coordinate resolution promptly.
- Ensure all logistics activities follow applicable local and international rules, company policies, and documentation standards.
- Keep complete records of shipments, agreements, customs clearance documents, and related operational files.
- Work with vendors and couriers to keep shipping and delivery operations running efficiently and to improve service where needed.
