Job description

Role overview

This role is responsible for managing end-to-end logistics for inbound air and sea shipments. The position involves coordinating with freight forwarders, keeping transportation costs efficient, ensuring shipments move on time and in compliance with requirements, checking shipping paperwork, monitoring ongoing consignments, and keeping the relevant teams informed with timely updates.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor all air and sea purchase orders raised by the purchasing team and make sure bookings and dispatches happen as planned.
  • Coordinate shipping arrangements with freight forwarders, including booking, scheduling, and confirming vessel or flight space.
  • Work on freight quotations with forwarders for both individual shipments and larger volumes, aiming to secure the best possible rates within company targets.
  • Review shipping paperwork such as bills of lading, airway bills, packing lists, certificates of origin, and commercial invoices to confirm accuracy and compliance.
  • Track containers and air cargo throughout transit and act quickly when delays or risks to the timeline appear.
  • Share shipment disruptions, delays, and exceptions promptly with internal stakeholders such as procurement, sales, and operations.

Qualifications and experience

  • A minimum of 5 years’ background in freight forwarding, shipping operations, or logistics coordination is required.
  • Good knowledge of air and sea freight workflows, Incoterms, and customs-related documentation is needed.
  • Hands-on experience with freight forwarders and carrier booking tools is expected.
  • Strong communication and coordination abilities are necessary for working with both internal teams and external partners.
  • Prior exposure to food, FMCG, or temperature-controlled logistics is considered an advantage.

This position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and is a full-time onsite role.
