Role overview
A well-established organisation in Bridgwater is looking for a Logistics Planner / Scheduler to join its team on a permanent basis. This office-based position is suited to someone who has already handled planning or scheduling work, particularly for engineers, field technicians, or drivers, and is now looking for a varied role focused on coordination and operational support.
The working pattern is 40 hours per week, from 8:30am to 5:00pm, and the salary is up to £32,000 per year.
Key responsibilities
- Build and manage daily schedules for technicians working out in the field.
- Assign both urgent and planned jobs in an efficient way.
- Improve routes and travel time so productivity stays high.
- Handle customer orders and keep records accurate and up to date.
- Monitor shared inboxes and respond to service-related requests.
- Work with technicians and customers to fix scheduling problems.
- Keep internal systems updated and maintain strong data quality.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in scheduling and wider operational processes.
Candidate profile
The employer is seeking someone with prior experience in planning, scheduling, dispatching, or coordination. Experience supporting field engineers, service technicians, or drivers will be especially relevant, and transport planning or haulage backgrounds may also be considered. The ideal candidate should be highly organised, able to juggle priorities, and confident communicating with both customers and internal teams. Strong customer service ability and good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, are important for success in this role.
