  • Run both digital and analogue mixing desks during rehearsals and live performances.
  • Carry out detailed sound checks with musicians, DJs, presenters, performers, and production personnel.
  • Continuously balance levels, EQ, dynamics, monitoring, and effects to maintain strong sound throughout the event.
  • Deliver reliable front-of-house and monitor mixes aligned with artistic and production expectations.
  • Identify and resolve equipment or signal problems before and during live events with minimal interruption.
  • Locate and fix issues affecting microphones, wireless systems, speakers, amplifiers, processors, and digital audio networks.

  • Arrange repairs and servicing whenever equipment requires attention.
  • Work with production managers, lighting teams, stage managers, AV staff, performers, and outside production partners.
  • Read technical riders and translate them into accurate audio setups.
  • Support stage patching, signal routing, and backstage technical operations.
  • Assist with rehearsals, room turnovers, and production timelines.
  • Help ensure that sound integrates smoothly with lighting, video, and special effects.
  • Keep an accurate record of audio equipment and related accessories.
  • Make sure equipment is stored, moved, and maintained according to manufacturer guidance.
  • Report damaged, faulty, or missing items without delay.
  • Suggest upgrades or replacements when equipment improvements are needed.
  • Follow venue procedures related to health, safety, and operations.
  • Manage cabling and equipment placement safely to reduce hazards.
  • Comply with electrical safety requirements and event risk controls.
  • Keep up with new audio tools, software, and industry practices.
  • Take part in technical training and product demonstrations.
  • Contribute ideas that improve quality and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree, diploma, or technical certification in Audio Engineering, Sound Engineering, Music Technology, or a related technical subject is preferred.
  • Applicants should have 5 to 6 years of professional live sound engineering experience, ideally in entertainment venues, festivals, theatres, concerts, or luxury hospitality settings.
  • Experience supporting high-profile live events and performances is required.
  • Strong listening ability and a sharp ear for audio detail are essential.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are needed.
  • The candidate must stay calm and effective under pressure during live productions.
  • Strong organisation and time management skills are important.
  • Clear communication and teamwork across multiple production functions are required.
  • A professional attitude and a strong focus on guest experience are expected.
  • The role requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, public holidays, and extended working hours based on event needs.
  • Applicants must be able to lift and move professional audio equipment safely.
  • Comfort with standing for long periods during live work is necessary.
