Overview

Dalata Hotel Group is looking for a Leisure Centre Cleaner to support the smooth running of its fitness and leisure facilities in Sligo. This role sits within a welcoming team environment and includes access to training through Dalata Academy, along with support from experienced colleagues. Role summary

Reporting to the Leisure Centre Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and presentation of member and guest areas within the leisure centre.

Key duties

  • Keep the fitness and leisure spaces safe for members, guests, and staff at all times.
  • Assist and direct members and visitors in a courteous and helpful manner.
  • Maintain Club Vitae, including the Kids Club area, to a consistently high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Follow cleaning schedules closely and complete any required records or logs.
  • Clean bathrooms, changing rooms, showers, baby changing spaces, and corridor areas using only approved cleaning products, materials, and equipment.
  • Make sure bathrooms and changing room supplies are stocked to the required level.
  • Clean public areas and toilets, and complete the bathroom/changing room checklist every hour.
  • Carry out weekly deep-cleaning tasks where needed.
  • Report any maintenance concerns, damaged items, or areas requiring repair.

  • Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience is an advantage, but it is not mandatory.
  • A friendly and approachable manner with customers.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and confidence in spoken English.
  • Ability to work well in a team and interest in developing your career further.
  • Flexibility to support different areas whenever needed.
