Position Overview

The Simcoe County District School Board is hiring a Lead Custodian for a permanent, full-time role in Bradford, Ontario. The position carries posting number CU-50 and involves working 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, on an as-required shift basis.

Key Duties

This role is responsible for leading custodial work and may include the full scope of tasks outlined in the Lead Custodian job description. The employer notes that responsibilities are not limited to the items listed and may expand based on operational needs.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • At least two years of experience in custodial work or a closely related field.
  • Strong leadership and planning ability, along with good organizational skills.
  • The ability to communicate and work cooperatively with supervisors, colleagues, students, staff, and members of the public.
  • Comfort using computer software such as Excel, MS Word, and Outlook to complete requisitions and related documentation.
  • Capability to lead a crew, organize priorities, and schedule workloads effectively.
  • A self-driven and motivated approach to work.
  • Computer skills sufficient to use facility services building systems and maintenance order systems would be considered an advantage.

Selection and Employment Terms

Testing will be part of the selection process. Only candidates whose resumes clearly demonstrate the required qualifications and skills will be contacted for an interview. Membership in the OMERS Pension Plan is mandatory for all full-time permanent employees, even for individuals already receiving an OMERS pension. This position belongs to the CUPE Local 1310 bargaining unit, and employment conditions, including any union dues, are governed by the CUPE Collective Agreement.
