Lead Chaplain

Role Overview

We are seeking applications for the position of Lead Chaplain within the Chaplaincy Department at St. Vincent's University Hospital. This is a full-time permanent role based in Dublin, Ireland, graded at Grade VII level. The Lead Chaplain will oversee the operational management and continuous development of the hospital's chaplaincy services, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality pastoral care.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage and develop the chaplaincy services, ensuring inclusive support is available that respects diverse faiths and cultures.
• Provide opportunities and resources for personal and communal prayer and worship, including access to Sacramental ministries as appropriate.
• Lead change initiatives and projects to gain staff support for organizational improvements and ongoing development.
• Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver the highest standard of pastoral care to patients and their families, from referral through discharge and bereavement.
• Participate fully in a 24-hour chaplaincy rota, as services operate around the clock.
