Role overview

Soho House is hiring a Kitchen Porter for Soho Farmhouse in Banbury, England. This position is central to keeping the kitchen running efficiently by making sure all crockery, glassware, utensils, pans, and other kitchen items are cleaned, maintained, and ready for use.

The role also focuses on maintaining a safe, tidy, and hygienic back-of-house environment, including proper waste handling and general organisation across kitchen work areas and storage spaces.

Key responsibilities

• Clean, rinse, and sanitise pots, pans, plates, cutlery, utensils, and glassware to meet daily kitchen needs.
• Use commercial washing and cleaning equipment safely and in line with manufacturer instructions and site procedures.
• Keep kitchen stations, storage areas, and back-of-house spaces orderly and hygienic.
• Remove and dispose of waste correctly, making sure bins are emptied and surrounding areas remain clean throughout the shift.
• Follow Food Safety and Health & Safety requirements, including applicable UK rules and HACCP standards.
• Work to agreed cleaning routines and standard operating procedures.
• Assist the kitchen team by restocking items, flagging low inventory, and supporting service during busy periods.
• Care for equipment and kitchenware to reduce damage and breakages.
• Restock essentials such as toiletries, towels, and cleaning supplies when needed.
• Store and manage cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.

• Prior experience in cleaning, housekeeping, or janitorial work is preferred.

Compensation

The advertised pay rate for this role in the UK is £14.50 per hour. Pay may differ in other locations depending on local market conditions.
