Role Overview
The Hoxton Charlottenburg in Berlin is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support the back-of-house team. In this role, you will help keep kitchen operations efficient, clean, and well organized so the chefs and service teams can deliver a smooth guest experience.
This property is The Hoxton’s first location in Germany and includes 234 rooms of different layouts, a lively winter garden with all-day dining, a busy lobby and bar, a coffee bar, a street-facing terrace, and The Apartment, the brand’s meetings and events space.
You will report to the Executive Chef and play an important part in maintaining hygiene, handling deliveries, moving stock, and ensuring the kitchen remains ready for service at all times.
The Hoxton is a collection of open-house hotels designed to feel rooted in their neighborhoods, with welcoming public spaces where guests and locals can spend time together.
Key Duties
- Support the kitchen team quickly and efficiently whenever assistance is needed.
- Keep the kitchen, back-of-house areas, and pass consistently clean and well arranged.
- Wash and return pots, pans, plates, and cutlery without delay.
- Prepare food areas so they are hygienic and ready for use.
- Ensure there is always a sufficient supply of clean plates for service.
- Receive food and equipment deliveries and organize storage properly.
- Monitor stock levels and inform the Head Chef when supplies such as soap or detergents need replenishing.
- Work closely with colleagues to keep operations running smoothly.
- Maintain clean and sanitized work surfaces, walls, and floors.
- Remain flexible and willing to take on reasonable additional tasks from management.
