About the team
Campus and Collegiate Life Services at the University of Otago supports a range of high-quality services that help create the distinctive Otago student experience and the collegiate environment of the university. Within this division, College Catering is a substantial food operation, preparing more than 8,500 meals each day for eleven university colleges.
The opportunity
The university is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join the busy food service team at Hayward College.
What the role involves
This position focuses on keeping kitchen areas clean and well maintained, ensuring dishes are washed promptly and to the standards required under the HACCP programme. The job also includes supporting meal service and assisting with basic food preparation.
Role details
This is a permanent, full-time role that runs during semester time only, from February through November. The position is based in Ōtepoti Dunedin.
Working hours are 40 per week, Tuesday to Saturday.
The hourly pay range for this role is between $26.43 and $27.48.
Although the role begins at Hayward College, it may be moved to another University College on the Dunedin campus if operational needs require it.
