Role Summary

The Junior Project Manager will join the Strategic Growth Team at the Support Office in Kitchener, Ontario, with occasional travel to Village locations across Ontario. Reporting to the Director of Business Process Development, this full-time position plays a vital role in overseeing various aspects of project planning, execution, delivery, and ongoing sustainability to support organizational initiatives. The position demands strong collaboration with stakeholders organization-wide to ensure projects align with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in defining project scopes and establishing overarching objectives.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans detailing deliverables, timelines, communication strategies, evaluation methods, sustainability planning, and milestone tracking.
  • Clarify roles and responsibilities for all project team members.
  • Conduct research and gather relevant data to inform project decision-making processes.
  • Support both ongoing and post-project evaluations.
  • Assist in task management by defining tasks, monitoring progress, identifying risks, and escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Organize meetings with internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Maintain thorough project documentation, including schedules, status reports, and meeting notes.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance processes and improve efficiency.
  • Contribute to budget monitoring and appropriate resource allocation.
  • Facilitate communication strategies by coordinating effectively with internal Village teams and external partners to ensure smooth task execution.
  • Serve as liaison between Support Office Teams and Village Leadership and staff to ensure alignment on project objectives.
  • Regularly communicate status updates and successes to team members and stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
  • Address inquiries and concerns from stakeholders during project implementation.

Candidate Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in project management or a related discipline; equivalent experience considered.
  • Possession of a Project Management Certificate is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience or certification in Change Management principles.
  • Familiarity with program evaluation methodologies.
  • Knowledge of the Long-Term Care Act, Retirement Home Act, or similar regulations is a plus.
  • Between 1 to 3 years of experience in project coordination or related roles.
  • Strong organizational skills with acute attention to detail and effective time management.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, including active listening and adapting communication style to diverse audiences while managing expectations.
  • Competency in analyzing and presenting data, reports, and presentations tailored to various internal groups sensitively and in alignment with organizational values.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with familiarity in project management software (such as Microsoft Project or Planner) considered an asset.
  • Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving aptitude.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize complex demands, and judiciously pause projects or initiatives when necessary.
  • Capable of working autonomously under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel to different Village locations as required.
  • Demonstrated skills in project and change management enabling motivation, consensus building, trust fostering, and guiding teams toward goal achievement.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Ability to manage conflicts and handle sensitive, confidential information discreetly and without judgment.

Compensation & Benefits

This role offers a salary range between $50,000 and $60,000 annually, positioned within a broader pay band that allows growth based on merit and performance.
