Overview

This full-time, onsite opportunity is based in Napier, Hawke’s Bay. It is suited to someone who wants to grow a long-term career in finance and accounting while learning inside a large, established business.

The role is a strong fit for a recent graduate, a candidate studying toward an accounting qualification, or someone ready to move forward in their finance career. You will be part of a supportive Finance Team and work closely with senior leaders, including two Chartered Accountant Directors, while gaining practical exposure to commercial accounting and day-to-day business operations.

You will start with core accounts receivable work and gradually broaden your responsibilities as you build confidence and capability. This position is designed for someone who is detail-focused, enjoys interacting with people, and is motivated by professional development and future progression within the wider organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support accounts receivable activity, including managing debtors and applying payments correctly
  • Learn to maintain and reconcile customer accounts with accuracy and confidence
  • Handle customer communication about overdue balances in a professional and helpful manner
  • Assist with account reconciliations and follow up on queries or discrepancies
  • Participate in month-end tasks and other wider finance team activities as needed
  • Keep financial records and customer information up to date and accurate
  • Provide broader support to the Finance Team as your skills grow
