Job description

Role overview

This position supports multiple first- and second-line-of-defense teams within IT Operations Control and the Conduct Chief Office by improving their data analytics capabilities. The work spans automation, consolidation of existing controls, creation of new analyses, interpretation of results, data visualization, and the use of AI-based techniques and solutions.

The role may involve analysis across information security and business security areas, including operational controls and information security controls. Both functional and technical analysis may be required depending on the assignment.

Core responsibilities

  • Build, train, and roll out AI models, especially NLP-based solutions using modern architectures, to support use cases such as sentiment analysis, document classification, summary creation, information extraction, and related tasks while following ethical and confidentiality requirements.
  • Work with business specialists, product owners, developers, and fellow data scientists to define the problem statement, data inputs, success metrics, and outputs for AI initiatives, and help ensure AI governance is applied appropriately.
  • Handle a wide range of analytical requests, including unfamiliar topics, by gathering and preparing data with ETL-related methods and technologies, researching approaches, and learning new APIs and data acquisition techniques when needed.
  • Create automation scripts and reusable libraries that reduce manual effort in controls and analysis, and develop visual dashboards or charts to highlight deviations and risks using KPI, KRI, KSF, and CSF indicators.
  • Produce clear documentation for each deliverable so the context, usage, and technical implementation are easy to understand and can support further automated insights.
  • Track developments in AI and related technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.

Experience and technical profile

The role calls for solid exposure to data analysis and science methods, including descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive, cognitive, statistical, text, and risk analysis. Hands-on capability with Python, PowerShell, SQL, APIs, DevOps practices, operating systems, computer networks, and broader IT culture is expected.

Applicants should also be familiar with machine learning, model training and inference, prompt engineering, coding fundamentals, programming methodology, and the software development lifecycle. Project management and change management experience would be advantageous.

Experience in a multinational environment with an onshore/offshore operating model is preferred.

Behavioural expectations

  • Strong communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability, with close attention to detail.
  • Good organization and multitasking skills, plus flexibility to work in a fast-moving environment with tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Comfort working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contributing to shared outcomes.
  • Ability to simplify, improve, and adapt processes, policies, or procedures effectively.

Education and qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or a closely related field is required, though equivalent experience may also be considered.

Required and desirable knowledge

Essential knowledge includes artificial intelligence and data science concepts, especially machine learning and natural language processing, along with practical experience in data analysis, research, and automation. Candidates should be willing and able to adapt to new technologies and methods.

Helpful but not mandatory experience includes ETL and data visualization tools, AI governance and ethics, exposure to banking or financial services, and understanding of information security and risk management principles.
